What is a Wall Bed Anyway?

A Murphy bed, also called a wall bed, pull down bed, or fold-down bed is a bed that is hinged on one end to store vertically against the wall, or inside of a closet or cabinet.

The bed is named for William Lawrence Murphy, who patented the system in the early 1900’s.
